Below is a refresher of the policy:
Discounted
rate guidelines:
Any person desiring to receive the discounted
rate for the trip will be expected to participate in a minimum of 50% of all
fundraisers. This rate will be open to
any family member wishing to come the only stipulation is the 50% rate of
participation.
Of course you have the option to pay the full
rate if you do not want to participate in any of the fundraisers.
Types of fundraisers:
General Trip
These
fundraisers everybody will have the opportunity to participate in. These fundraisers will be the base for the
number of opportunities that everybody has.
These fundraisers include raking, tree removal, scrap metal, hot dog
sales, bazaar, sap collection & the Willow Bend Dinner to name a few.
“Extra Credit”
These
type of fundraisers happen but not everybody gets the opportunity to
participate in them. Examples are the
gift card sales & can & bottle return.
Individual Fundraisers
These
fundraisers give each scout the opportunity to sell as much as they can and any
money raised goes directly to their personal account. Examples include Popcorn, Wreaths & Flower Sales.
Attendance Spreadsheet
The troop is maintaining a spreadsheet on Google
documents where you can check your attendance on the fundraisers. Here is the web address for the spreadsheet.

Attendance Account Balance Update
Below you will find your fundraising attendance account balance for any of the members of your family that are attending the Big Trip 2011. We are halfway done with the fundraising! So far we have raised about $15,000.
25 Total opportunities for participation as of July 1st 2010
The Doe Family:
John Doe – 12 Credits
Bobby Doe – 2 Credits
Mikey Doe – 2 Credits
As you can see Josh is within the 50% participation but Ken and Matt are low on credits. Without knowing your families intent on paying the discounted rate, we would like to just give you a friendly reminder that if you would like the full discounted rate there needs to be more participation from your family on the fundraisers.
As a reminder all participants on the trip need to participate in the fundraisers to get the discounted rate, not just the scouts. If Ken or Matt can not make fundraisers, then another person from your family can take their place to earn credits.
If you are planning to pay a higher rate in place of participating in the fundraisers then that is fine we just wanted to let you know where you stand on fundraiser participation. The non-discounted rate is expected to be approximately $900 and the discounted rate is expected to be about $300 to $350.
You can track your fundraising attendance on the troop’s attendance spreadsheet.

We do understand that schedules are extremely busy for everybody that is why we are trying to give lots of different opportunities for families to help with the fundraising. If you have an idea that we have not tried then please contact us. We expect the fundraising to end next June with the Sulphur Springs festival. We are unsure of exactly how many opportunities there will be but the major ones coming up will be: Pumpkin sale in October, Raking in November and the Bazaar, remember multiple shifts give you multiple credits so if you work a day you can make up lots of credits.
Thank you,
